The headquarters of Kremsmueller is hardly recognisable any more. An impressive production shop of the "Container, Apparatus and Tank Construction" division now dominates the campus in the Upper Austrian town of Steinhaus near the city of Wels. But what does that mean, specifically? Where does Kremsmueller clearing have the lead in this special field?
Above all, the area of the production shops for containers, apparatuses and tanks has doubled. The hook clearance has more than doubled and is now 12.5 metres. In actual practice, this means a tremendous simplification in the planning of operation sequences. And that is how it was with the first project: Two columns 70.5 metres each in height were constructed simultaneously and in perfect quality.
The new plate bending machine will add to Kremsmueller's production capacity from the summer of 2010. With a maximum plate thickness of 160 mm, the capacity here is being quadrupled. The working width of 4 metres makes this machine one of the biggest in Europe.
The plant construction company has also increased its crane capacity by a factor of eight. As much as 252 tonnes can be lifted with the new crane systems. The new production shop will thus see the birth of real heavyweights. And anything that cannot be transported by road will be final-assembled in the Danube port at Linz and shipped from there.
The submerged welding machine is one of the biggest and most modern in Austria. An unexampled quality is achieved even at significantly higher welding speeds. Entirely new processes like electroplating are now possible with this machine.
